When taking a snapshot from within the vSphere client an "operation timed out error" is received.
This error occurs if you take a manual snapshot from vSphere client and have selected to snapshot virtual memory and check the box to quiesce the snapshot.
Take a manual snapshot from vSphere client, and make sure you uncheck the box to snapshot virtual memory and do not check the box to quiesce the snapshot.
These two options seem to be responsible for the operation timed out error.
After changing the disk.EnableUUID flag to false, the VM had trouble with snapshots.
