When attempting to send a test email from vRanger you receive a failure message similar to
SMTP server verification failed!
Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 Unable to relay
This is due to the SMTP server refusing to take delivery of the email message from vRanger. There could be several underlying causes, 2 common ones are:
- SMTP server requires authentication, vRanger does not support authenticating to a SMTP server
- there are IP address restrictions on the SMTP server
Verify that the SMTP server does not require authentication. Also verify that if IP address restrictions are present that the vRanger IP address is added correctly. Additional resources for this SMTP error can be found at
