When attempting to perform a file level restore via vRanger you are not able to authenticate to share location of the save point. When you attempt to browse to the location you are not able to enumerate the location or authenticate.
Make sure when selecting the location that you choose the administrative share for the save point location, and the explicit share location. You will see a red "X" next to the explicit share when selected which will permit you from browsing the location.
Administrative shares provide default shares of every hard drive on a computer when enumerated. The share permissions can be considered a point of entry for the NTFS permissions being used over the network. The share permissions can dictate what actions are allowed when you access a network resource via a share. While the NTFS permissions can allow you to do specific things to file and folders in the configuration. In this case not allowing the enumeration the save point to perform the FLR.
When choosing the savepoint location use the administrative share to access the savepoint. If the explicit share is chosen you will be using the NTFS permissions to authenticate to the location.
Examples of the two when looking at the dropdown list are :
explicit share : E \\localhost\e$\backup
admin share : E$
