You are seeing slow speeds when doing replications in vRanger, and you are using the virtual appliance in the configuration. You have increased you scratch disk size (following documentation), have created the vRanger machine with version 5.3, and have the correct version of the Virtual Appliance installed. Hot Add is not a option in the configuration, and you want better performance using VDDK over the network.
1. Verify you are using the correct VA for the vRanger version 5.3
2. Verify your current configuration meets system requirements
3. Update the firmware for the drives being used in the configuration
Test your speeds with no compression:
1. Upload a 50 or 100 MB file to vRanger machine
2. Use WinSCP place the file in the /tmp directory of the source virtual appliance
3. Use WINSCP to move the file mentioned above from the source VA to target VA in the same location
4. Not the speeds you are receiving on the copy with no compression being used, and going over Port 22
,
You may need to examine the current network configuration with this being the root cause of the slow replication passes.
