vRangers failing to backup -
Description
VDDK HotAdd backups are failing on certain VMs with this error:
Error Message: 2654 - can't read vix:r:Virtual Center Name:902:[Datastore Name] VMname/VMname.vmdk:moref=vm-15425:snapshot-22359:4 [at io_size:125]

Cause
Check the ESXi host version, customer was running Dec 2010 ESXi 4.1 base (Vanilla) build

Resolution
Once customer updated from base vanila ESXi 4.1 host to update 3 and latest patches and then backups of all failing VMs started working just fine.
Also try to clone the VM to do some testing and was getting all kinds of general system errors and the clone refused to power on. So it could be just an ESXi4.1 base build bug.
