Create a hybrid replication, where the source virtual disk is thin provisioned and you notice that the replica virtual disk is created as thick provisioned.
This is becasue of the existing snapshot created. If a snapshot is on the VM, ESX will report ithe disk as thick provisioned. Thsi is somethign that VMware is aware of. For more details please review this VMware KB article:
Remove the snapshot from the source machine. Check to see if the disk property still says thick, or if it changes to thin.
