VM backup status were successful and associated snapshots has been removed.
But the VMDK (datastore) files attached (Added during the HotAdd session) to its VA is not detached.
With vCenter warning message - "Virtual Machine Disks Consolidation Failed".
The vranger VA has no scratch disk configured
Configure a single scratch disk on the vranger VA. Best practice recommends one half (1/2) of the total size of (vmdk ) on one of the biggest vm to be backed up.
Alternatively:
If no VA is configured, vRanger server will be used as a transport for the HotAdd functionality.
If vranger is a vm and part of the virtual infrastructure no further configuration is needed.
If vranger server is a physical machine, the LUN/SAN either iscsi or fibre channel of the esx hosts must be presented on the vranger server in order for HotAdd to function correctly. Read permission for backup and Write permission for restores. You must disable automount first on the physical machine before presenting the esx datastore lun.
