Error Message: A connection could not be established to the virtual appliance
Description

Backups are failing after upgrading the Hosts. The error in vRanger is: Error Message: A connection could not be established to the virtual appliance (VA_NAME)
Cause

vRanger no longer sees the virtual appliances
Resolution

1. First verify that there are no jobs currently running in vRanger by selecting My Inventory and then click Refresh.

2. Next click on Tools | Options | Virtual Appliance | Configuration.

3. Remove the VAs assosciated with the Hosts that were upgraded, do not check the box that asks to delete the VAs from the ESXi Host(s).

4. Add the VAs back.
