vRanger 6.0.1 / VC 5.1 backup fails with "Object Reference not set to instance of an object"
Description

When backing up a VM managed by Virtual Center 5.1 the following error message is noticed:

"Object Reference not set to instance of an object"
Cause

A possible cause is that the backup job configured for the VM is using a Virtual Appliance that has become unavailable.
Resolution

Ensure that the Virtual Appliance is entered correctly in vRanger.

To verify in vRanger: Tools | Options | Virtual Appliance | Configuration

Check to ensure that the IP and other fields are entered correctly

Check the VA in VC that it has an IP address
