vRanger restored VM fails to boot up due to a vmx setting added during restore process -
Description
After restoring a VM with vRanger, vSphere fails to boot up restored VM. -
Cause
vRanger adds a suspend.directory setting on a restored VM vmx.
vSphere tries to create VM swap file on the folder specified by suspend.directory. If vSphere does not have permission to read/write on that folder, VM will fail to boot up.

Resolution
WORKAROUND
The current workaround is to manually remove suspend.directory setting from restored VM vmx file.
STATUS
Issue fixed in version 7.0.
