Description
What will happen to save points for a virtual machine after I stop backing it up? -
Cause
Once you discontinue the backup of a VM retention will not continue to expire save point per your retention policy.
This is because retention, and the expiration of save points, happens at the end of a successful backup task for any given VM. Be cause backups no longer run retention policy no longer runs.

Resolution
You should manually delete save point from within the vRanger GUI repositories screen. -
