Some or All Exchange 2010 Edge servers are detected as Exchange 2007 servers in Spotlight on Messaging.
Spotlight on Messaging is trying to run tests for Exchange 2007 on your Exchange 2010 edge transport servers.
How Spotlight on Messaging determins the version of Exchange is by looking in Active Directory for the serialNumber property of the server.
If you open ADSI edit and go to
Configuration |CN=Services | CN=Microsoft Exchange |CN=Administrative Groups CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) | CN=Servers
Then right click on the Edge Server where the version is not bieng detected correctly and select properties. Scroll down to th serialNumber attribute.
The serialNumber attribute of the server object is used to determin the Exchange version installed.
Exchange Server 2010 will be Version 14.0
An incorrect serialNumber attribute for you server can be caused by problems with your existing edge subscriptions.
Consult your Exchange Server documentation for proper configuration of your Edge Transport Servers and subscriptions.
