In order for MOM 2005 to work properly, Spotlight Launcher needs to be installed. Copy the following files to the same folder where both Spotlight and MOM are installed.
 SpotlightLauncher.exe
 Spotlights.xml
By default the location will be C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Spotlight\MOM Launcher.
Instructions for MOM 2005 Integration:
1. Select Start | Programs | Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 | Administrator Console.
2. Right-click the Tasks folder in the treeview and select Create Task to open the Create Task Wizard.
3. Click Next.
4. Select Operator Console as the run location and click Next.
5. Select Events as the view type.
6. Enter the path to SpotlightLauncher.exe in the Task Command Line box. Make sure that the full path to Spotlightlaunher.exe path is inside quotation marks.
For example: "C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Spotlight\MOM Launcher\SpotlightLauncher.exe"
7. Leave a space after the path and click on the arrow on the right side and add the token " Generated By Computer ". (Make sure that there is a space between the path and the token)
8. After the "Generated by Computer", leave a space and add the SQL Server Name. If the SQL server is on the same server where MOM is installed you do not need to add anything else, but if the SQL Server is on a different server, leave a space after the "Generated By Computer " token and just type the server name.
9. Click Next.
10. Enter Diagnose Using Spotlight in the name box and click Finish. The Spotlight launcher should now be in MOM.
