Affected applications: SQL Server, OCS, BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Management console: Server Health Test fails to retrieve application specific counters when monitoring server installed on 64 bit platform.
Diagnostic Console: Controls displaying information coming from application specific perfmon counters are greyed out when connecting to server installed on 64 bit platform.
This is a Microsoft issue. On 64 bit platforms 64 bit version of Perfmon is used to serve all remote perfmon requests (SOM issues such requests when running Server Health Test and connecting with Diagnostic console). 64 bit Perfmon shows only performance counters from 64 bit perfmon providers. SQL Server, OCS, BlackBery Enterprise Server do not support 64 bit perfmon providers at this time, therefore application specific perfmon counters will be missing the Server Health Test results and Diagnostic Console.
Note: SOM server could be installed on either 64 bit or 32 bit OS, it doesnnâ€t change the behaviour when target is installed on 64 bit OS. The behaviour is dictated by the version of the target.
