Error: "Could not convert variant of type (OleStr) into type (Double)" (4247872)

Error: "Could not convert variant of type (OleStr) into type (Double)" when opening the storage groups on an Exchange 2007 server.

STATUS

This is a known issue. Change Request TF00096243 has been raised for this issue to be fixed in a future release of Spotlight on Messaging.

WORKAROUND:

1 - Open the Exchange 2007 connection that gives errors
2 - Navigate to the storage group drilldown
3 - Ignore all the errors (e.g. by clicking OK)
4 - Right-click the status column and choose restore default settings
5 - Browse back to the home page, then to the storage group page again to see if the error persists

If the above fails try the following:

1 - Navigate to the storage group drilldown
2 - Ignore all the errors (e.g. by clicking OK)
3 - Right-click the status column and uncheck freeze first column
4 - Right-click the status column and choose hide column
5 - Browse back to the home page, then to the storage group page again to see if the error persists
