How to manually create the Unified Communication Diagnostics database on both clustered and non-clust (4216989)

The following steps explain how SQL administrators can manually create the SOM database using scripts rather than running the Unified Communication Diagnostics installer against the SQL servers.

The Unified Communication Diagnostics database creation scripts can be found with the installation files of the product in a subfolder called DatabaseScripts.

You can also access these files by running the installer autorun utility and selecting Install | Unified Communication Diagnostics  Manual Database Scripts | View. The database creation scripts are in a subfolder called InstallScripts.

- These steps are known to work successfully; however, they have not been officially tested by the Quest Quality Control.

To manually create the Unified Communication Diagnostics database:

1. Open Microsoft SQL server Management Studio (or similar application to open SQL scripts). See Additional Information for details about how to obtain the scripts
2. Click File | Open | File.
3. Open the CreateDatabase.sql script.
4. Select Query | Execute.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to install the following SQL script files in the following order:
   • * UserFunctions.sql
   • * DatabaseSchema.sql
   • * ImportData.sql
