Running Schema Compare in Toad 4.5 gave "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." (4290684)

When I selected Tools | Compare | Schema Compare within Toad 4.5 and just after it starts running I receive the following error message:

    "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

One identified cause of this error in Toad 4.5 is that if   you run Database Engine Tuning Adviser and apply its recommendation, your database  will have  hypothetical indexes, which  it can cause of this exception.

WORKAROUND:
None

STATUS:
If you have ran the Database Engine Tuning Advisor and applied its recommendation, an enhancement request has been submitted to Development for consideration in a future release of Toad for SQL Server.
