When I compare two large text files (for example two different Toad Support Bundles saved as text files), and I copy both sides, I get the error:
Access Violation at address 00404593 in module 'toad.exe'. Read of address 00000000
Steps to replicate the error:
1) Go to Utilities | Compare Files
2) Choose "Text" under "Files of Type:"
3) Load two typically large text files i.e. two different Toad Support Bundle text files
4) Use your mouse to highlight the results from top to bottom
5) press Ctrl + C
6) Click on "Both Sides (w/Tab)" button
7) then the error appears: Access Violation at address 00404593 in module 'toad.exe'. Read of address 00000000
WORKAROUND:
Try to copy one side at a time i.e. click on "Just Left Side" button first, then click on "Just Right Side" button.
STATUS:
Waiting for fix in a future release of Toad for Oracle.
