What is pluggable database support? (4275282)

Pluggable database support is a new Oracle feature beginning with Oracle 12.

Essentially prior to Oracle 12, every instance of Oracle is only one database contrary to SQL Server where ever SQL Server instance can have multiple databases.  The new pluggable database in Oracle 12 will allow you to create more than one database under one Oracle instance, similar to SQL Server.  Toad 12.1 (not Toad 12.0) now supports the new Oracle 12 feature.
