Open or Save file in TOAD Editor application freezes -
Description
Attempting to open or save a file with TOAD Editor, a directory \\<server>\<share>$ is listed.
Error message "Windows cannot access \\<server>\<share>$. You do not have permission".
The TOAD application freezes. -
Cause
Toad for Oracle will attempt to initialize the dialog to the directory of the last file accessed from within Toad. If working from an imaged installation of Toad, it may be referencing this path from the original installation. The last used directory is stored in your Toad.ini file.

Resolution
RESOLUTION
The steps to edit the Toad.ini file are as follows:
1.) Locate the directory: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\12.1\User Files
2.) Exit Toad and open up this file.
3.) Inside, you may find \\<server>\<share>$ as the value for the SQL_PATH key.
4.) If you remove value(\\<server>\<share>$) and save.
5.) Restart Toad.
