Scenario 1:
When user tries to select the "Include in Order by Clause" in the SQL Modeler TOAD generates the following error.
Access violation at address 0055E3C0 in module
'TOAD.exe'. Read of address 00000010.
User took the following steps to generate the access violation..
1. Go to Database | Report | Query Builder.
2. Drag and drop a table from the Object Palette into the working panel.
3. Check a column from the table in the working panel.
2. In the Model Select panel, right click on the table column in the SELECT node and choose "Include in Order by Clause."
Scenario 2:
When user attempts to open an existing DML file which includes a query with an Order By or Group By clause, an Access Violation error occurs. Once file is opened, these clauses are non-functional.
WORKAROUND:
These issue are fixed in the current beta version of TOAD for Oracle. Here's the beta link http://www.toadsoft.com/beta.html. Remember that Quest does not support beta versions of our product so install another copy of TOAD in a different install directory folder. Call it "TOAD for Oracle Beta" and put the beta over it.
In regards to opening DML files, queries can be saved as an SQL file instead. Opening SQL files will not result in error.
STATUS:
This issue is fixed in Toad for Oracle 9.1.0.62. This version can be downloaded at http://questsupportlink.quest.com/prod_upgrade_alert.asp.
