Toad, Explain Plan leaves an open transaction on the server -
Description
The user has the following options unchecked.
View options >> oracle >> general >> "Save Previous Explain Plan Results"
View options >> oracle >> general >> "Use a Separate Connection when Toad itself is generating Transactions"
The user runs an explain plan with in the sql editor window. The user then opens a session browser. The user then notices that an exclusive lock is placed on the Toad_Plan_Table. This lock will not be released until the user issues a commit. -

WORKAROUND
Select any of these two options:
View options >> oracle >> general >> "Save Previous Explain Plan Results"
View options >> oracle >> general >> "Use a Separate Connection when Toad itself is generating
