The error "TPerlRegEx.Compile() - Error in regex at offset 5: missing " occurs when using the replace feature in the Editor.
Rename the toad.ini file

1. Close Toad
2. Go to
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\X.x\User Files (for XP) or
C:\Users\<username>\Appdata\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\X.x\User Files (for Vista or Win 7)
rename 'toad.ini' to 'toad.bak'
3. Copy files Connections.ini and Connectionpwds.ini one folder level up i.e. to
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\X.x
4. Launch Toad and go through the setup process.
Don't migrate your settings when prompted.
If prompted to reset the toolbar - say Yes
