Can I share my database passwords with others who have Toad installed? Is there a way to export the connections and then encrypt it then share it with others? -
Cause
For security reasons it's not possible to share connection passwords to other OS users. -
Resolution
Its possible to export the connections and saved passwords and it's possible to import both connections and passwords on machines that have the same OS credentials in which it originally was exported from; this is considered a best practice to backup your connection history if ever they needed to be restored into Toad.
It is not possible to share the exported connections and passwords to other OS credentials on other machines to prevent theft of database connections. There ways to encrypt the exported file from within Toad for Oracle, but the passwords are already encrypted on the exported file by default.
