When an error exists in the code for a procedure or package, the error is reported in a small window at the bottom right-hand side of the screen. If anything is highlighted in the procedure editor window, even if the error window has the cursor focus; attempting to copy the error will not be copied, it will copy whatever is highlighted in the procedure editor instead.
Also when right-clicking the small error window, there are no options to Copy or Select All.
Last, using any Hot Keys such as CTRL + C or CTRL + A to copy or select all, the hot keys will not copy the contents of the of the small error window; it will copy the contents of the procedure editor window instead. The select all will highlight the contents of the procedure editor instead of the small error text window.
Product Defect.
WORKAROUND:
Make sure that nothing is highlighted in main Procedure Editor window at all by clicking into it. Then manually highlight the contents of the error text window and use the CTRL + C hot key command to successfully copy the error text. Use the CTRL + V hot key command to paste the text.
