When running multi statement scripts with F5 Execute as Script the results get outputted into the Script tab. Along with script output are script grid tabs. If I run a lot of statements a grid tab will be created for each of the statements and depending on the size of my output pane the grid tabs will fill up the pane. At this point it will crash Toad.
RESOLUTION 1:
In Toad 8.6 and older
1. Exit out of Toad.
2. Go to the Toad install directory | User Files folder and find the desktops.xml file.
3. Rename desktops.xml (ex: desktops.xmlOLD).
4. Launch Toad and test issue.
In Toad 9.0 and newer
1. Exit out of Toad.
2. Go to the Toad install directory | User Files folder.
3. Find the EditorLayout_SQL.lay and rename it (ex: EditorLayout_SQL.layOLD).
4. Find the OriginalEditorLayout_SQL.lay file and make a copy of it in the same folder (ex: Copy of OriginalEditorLayout_SQL.lay).
5. Rename Copy of OriginalEditorLayout_SQL.lay to EditorLayout_SQL.lay.
6. Launch Toad and test issue.
RESOLUTION 2:
Reinstall Toad for Oracle.
May apply to various versions of Toad.
