When launching Toad 9.1, the following error is being displayed:
List index out of bounds (550).
WORKAROUND 1:
1. Rename SAVEDSQL.XML file, so that there is no SAVEDSQL.XML file when starting Toad. The SAVEDSQL.XML file is located in the Toad for Oracle\User files directory.
2. Launch Toad
3. Select View|Toad Options|Editor-Code Assistant
4. Set the number of statements to save, in the SQL Recall section, to 999.
5. Close Toad
6. Delete the new SAVEDSQL.XML file the was created and change the renamed file back to SAVEDSQL.XML
If when the old savedsql.xml is put back and the error still appears it may be because of the following:
1. If there is a non-English language in the file, the accents or foreign symbols could be causing it.
2. There are more than 999 statements on the file. If this may be the case up the number of statements to save to 9999.
WORKAROUND 2:
1. Reduce the contents of the file: C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\User Files\SAVEDSQL.xml
2. Deleting all empty-named entries in SAVEDSQL.xml wil allow Toad to run normally again.
WORKAROUND 3:
If an upgrade is not possible, perform the following:
1. Rename C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\User Files folder to User Files OLD
2. Transfer the User Files folder from a working machine to the path above
3. Transferring this file will also transfer user settings and connection information
4. If another instance of Toad is not available, contact support to obtain a new User Files folder
