When user launches Toad the following error immediately appears: '****' is not a valid integer value. (See Screen Shot).
The user acknowledges the error and then connects to the database and chooses to save the password. However when the user launches Toad again and receives the same error and tries to connect, the connection information is not saved in the connection window.
Corrupted CONNECTIONS.INI, CONNECTIONSPWDS.INI, and TOAD.INI files.
SOLUTION 1:
Reset CONNECTIONS.INI, CONNECTIONSPWDS.INI, and TOAD.INI files.
1. Close Toad.
2. Browse to default folder: C:Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\User Files
(As for Toad for Oracle 9.7.2: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\9.7\User Files)
3. Locate the following files:
- CONNECTIONS.INI
- CONNECTIONPWDS.INI
- TOAD.INI
Rename to CONNECTIONS.INI.OLD, CONNECTIONPWDS.INI.OLD, and TOAD.INI.OLD respectively.
4. Re-launch Toad and log on.
5. The message should no longer appear and new database information should be saved at re-launch.
SOLUTION 2:
Reinstall Toad in a new folder.
SOLUTION 3:
Install the latest version of Toad for Oracle in a new folder.
