A user password connection information has been used and saved in Toad's connection window. After changing the password in the sys schema, and logging into an existing connection with the new password, the new password does not replace and save over the previously existing password for that user in Toad's connection window.
RESOLUTION 1:
Remove that user's saved connection information from the connection window and re-enter the information.
1. In the connection window, select the user's info in the grid on the left side of the window.
2. Right click and select Remove.
3. Re-Enter in the user name and password on the right side of the window and check off Save Password optiong. Click connect.
4. Close Toad. Reopen Toad and test the password.
Change password in the system, and connect to the user using the new password and save the password. Again close Toad, reopen and check that the newest password has been saved.
RESOLUTION 2:
Rename the connection.ini file. The connection information is saved in the connections.ini file in Toad's User File folder (in the toad install directory).
1. Go to Toad install directory | User Files folder, find the connections.ini file.
2. Rename connections.ini to something like connections.ini.old to back up the file. The file will be created by Toad.
3. Make a connection with the current password and retest the issue.
Change password in the system, and connect to the user using the new password and save the password. Again close Toad, reopen and check that the newest password has been saved.
