We have an Oracle application that is reading a MySQL table using the MySQL ODBC driver from UNIX to LINUX.
There is a problem with doing a "SELECT *" statement with this driver. When we run the query in SQL*Plus, we get an ORA-28500 error. When we run the query through TOAD it returns: ORA-00600: internal error code.
Why does SQL*Plus give one error and Toad for Oracle another? I want to request an enhancement to have Toad programmed to give the same error as SQL Plus. Oracle applications are being pushed more and more to interface with non-Oracle data sources. Our company considers an ORA-00600 error a serious error that needs to be researched and this type error does not need to fit in that category.
