Code Completion 'Include top 20 values of column data' which is taking a long while. -
Description
Problem with the code completion option:
When in Options, Editor, Code Completion, General, box 'Include top 20 values of column data' is selected then queries like this will be executed in the background:
SELECT DISTINCT("column") FROM "creator"."table" FETCH FIRST 20 ROWS ONLY WITH UR FOR FETCH ONLY -
Cause
When large tables are involved this query takes a long while
In user’s case -
27'712 seconds of elapsed time
4'079'997'504 Getpages retrieved
This can of course be avoided when this option is not selected. But in a large organization it is not possible to avoid this from being used.
A solution can be achieved if the select in the background query does not contain the distinct parameter which would make the query much faster. -
