Occasionally we get the following message in Object Explorer and no objects are displayed:
"Disabled due to a detected server lock" [Retry]
Why?
There is a lock in the database that prevents Toad from populating LHS of Object Explorer. E.g., you can see it when you try to open Object Explorer when somebody else is changing some database object definition which, in turn blocks access to sys.all_objects system view.
Press 'Retry' to force Toad to read the database again and if the lock is gone, the Object Explorer populates successfully.
