Description
Getting the error "Microsoft ODBC Excel Driver External table is not in expected format" when trying to open an Excel file from Toad. File open fine outside of Toad.
Cause
POSSIBLE CAUSE 1: Corrupted or missing 32-bit ODBC driver for Excel
POSSIBLE CAUSE 2: The removal of 2007 Data Connectivity Components Office System Driver after having upgraded from Excel 2007 to Excel 2013
Resolution
WORKAROUND:
Saved the input file as .xls and re-open
RESOLUTION 1:
May need to reinstall the 32bit ODBC driver for Excel and verify if driver is working correctly.
