Results sets from Query Builder do not seem to close completely off OS after executing Quick Export to MS/Excel file and closing all results sets in Toad and Excel. The data is exported (right click Quick Export | Excel File). The apps are closed/exited normally. But the set seems to remain in memory like TSR files even after stopping all processes, disconnecting all, and Exiting TDA. On restart of computer, the Results SET will be seen in the background as part of the shut down process prior to reboot. The system still closes and reboots without problems.
Working with MS/Office 2007.
Issue with processes left over in task manager.
or
Conflict with older version of PrintKey third party application.
RESOLUTION 1:
Check for rogue Excel.exe or Toad.exe process left in Task manager after Toad and excel has been closed and before shutting down the computer.
If any are left, close those processes first, before shutting down/rebooting the computer. This may be an issue related to the handling of Office Excel 2007.
RESOLUTION 2:
This may be related to an older version of PrintKey v 2.0 and it's use of clipboard on the machine.
To test it, take an image of the entire TDA work screen, perform the same analysis with PrintKey, then close TDA and shutdown the computer. Is it the last image just taken that is presented on close out?
If so, upgraded the PrintKey to the newest version for XP,Vista, etc., go back into TDA, take another image and work with PrinkKey, closed out, and restart the computer. The restart should be clean, with no residual images from TDA.
