Error, "unknown column" when an ORDER BY clause is added to a Toad View
Description

A Toad view throws "unknown column" error when ORDER BY clause is added. The same exact SQL runs fine in editor (and it was created in the GUI) but would not run from the Toad View.

The error only occurs over an ODBC connection. Same exact Toad View runs fine on MySQL TCP connection.
Cause

Defect: The issue is that the ODBC driver cannot correctly parse Regexp (RLIKE) with Order by together.
Resolution

WORKAROUND:

Connect to MySQL Database via the TCP native connection.

STATUS:

Waiting for a fix in a future release of Toad Data Point.

Additional Information

Connected to a MySQL database running on Windows 2008 server, MySQL version is 5.5.21. The error appears to be associated with ORDER BY clause, when this clause is removed from the view SQL statement, the view runs.
