Invalid characters (Greek symbols) displayed in automation while using the reporting function to create a report and writing/viewing it in .pdf format.
There is an issue with viewing reports after they are written to pdf. When set up through automation, to run and write to pdf, Greek symbols are incorrect. If choosing to manually Print PDF Data Report to File from within Toad, the correct characters are used. The characters are only invalid when going through automation.
Reports can be run and are be viewed correctly with in TDA 3.1(ToadDataReports chklst-prod.tdr). The Greek symbols are displayed correctly when opening as tdr files displayed in TDA.
But through automation TDA gives a link to launch the pdf file created. This brings up Adobe reader and most of the file is readable, but not the Greek symbols. The write process seems to change the symbols. The symbols seem to have been turned into the equivalent western symbols... i.e. delta symbol changes to lower case 'd', and some other symbols turns into a question mark, etc.
WORKAROUND:
Try exporting as a different format. Keep in mind the alignment might be a little different when saving as a different format and may not match as it does to the view as PDF or in the Toad window when displaying the report within Toad.
STATUS:
Waiting for fix in a future version of Toad for Data Analysts/Toad Data Point.
