While connecting to Mongo DB in Toad Data point (TDP) one may see the error:
Data Service Database ErrorCan't create database '_9uchvk2gtc5tie7q47mu4outqiubj5bv'; database exists and is owned by another user -
Cause
Some mapping have been done before and it's attached to a different user and that's a problem for Toad Data Point. -
Resolution
To ignore the files attached with another user.1. - Go to options | Local Storage | FolderThis shows the Path to the folder that must be renamed, "Toad Data Point Hub Data".Usually "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Quest Software\Toad Data Point Hub Data"2. - Shut down Toad Data Point(TDP), it will have to be restarted.3. - Once the "Toad Data Point Hub Data" folder is renamed, then restart TDP.Example "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Quest Software\Toad Data Point Hub Data_old"4. - It may take a minute to create the first connection after that.Please note:MongoDB collections are shown as "Tables" in TDP, once you right-click on the "Table" name and select view details, one may see the: Columns, Relationships and Data Tabs, in there one may see the collection more in deep.This is because TDP connects to too many Data sources, and it tries to put them all into a common way to display the database objects, so, even when they are collections TDP treat them as tables just to follow a standard display, also to make them fit in the query builder. It's all about looking for consistency when displaying.
