Running TDM 3.6 with an Instant Client in the Reverse Engineering Wizard, the Net Service Name states...
"Not able to load net service names. Files tnsnames.ora not found."
I am able to type in the Service Name directly and it still works but I still like to see my TNS entries in the drop down.
RESOLUTION 1 - Set the TNSNAMES.ora path in the options.
1. Go to Setting | Options
2. Click on Oracle and on the right-side, look for the path to your TNSNAME.ora under “Path of tnsnames.ora”
RESOLUTION 2 - Create a NETWORK/ADMIN in your Instant Client folder instead of using a TNS_ADMIN
1. In your instant client folder create a Network | Admin folder
2. The Admin folder place the TNSNAMES.ora and the SQLNET.ora
NOTE: For example, If my instant client path is D:\Oracle\product\instantclient_11_1, I'll created a NETWORK\ADMIN folder to get D:\Oracle\product\instantclient_11_1\NETWORK\ADMIN.
3. You’ll need to remove your TNS_ADMIN variable
