CSR Data Entry Shortcuts

In addition to standard “point and click” data entry, Stat provides shortcut methods.

All General Information fields are table-based except Alt#, Tracking #, and Title. To enter data into table based fields, use the Quick Fill feature. Using Quick Fill, Stat completes your entry based on just a few characters.

To use Quick Fill, type the first few characters of an entry. For example, if you want to enter “PeopleSoft,” type “Peo” and press the <Tab> key. Stat completes your entry with the first match it finds.

Quick Pick also works with all table-based fields. Quick Pick allows you to view the contents of a drop down list by pressing the <F4> key. If you are unsure of what the options are for a particular list, place the cursor in the field and the press <F4> key. The drop down list expands to show its content.

Next, move to the desired item by pressing the <·> or <‚> keys. Once you have selected an item, press the <Tab> key to continue and move quickly to the next field.

Using Special Keys

To facilitate data entry into rich text edit fields, Stat supports standard and additional keystrokes allowing you to navigate through these special fields.

From the keyboard, moving the cursor while holding down the <SHIFT> key extends the current selection to the new cursor position.

Creating CSR Templates

You can specify default CSR values by saving a CSR as a template. When you save a CSR as a template, the values displayed in certain fields of that CSR are saved as the default settings for new CSRs created within the same service domain. This can be an effective time-saving technique if many of the CSRs you create within a service domain have the same values. For example, if you work primarily with the Benefits application while in the HR service domain, you could create a template with Benefits as the default value displayed in the Application field of new CSRs.

Environment Refresh Events

An environment refresh is the replacement of one environment (target) with a copy of another environment (source), which can be either an existing environment or a backup of an environment. In Stat, you document any environment refresh that you have performed or are planning to perform so Stat reporting properly reflects refresh activities and the state of each environment. This is done in the Environment Refresh tab of the CSR window, which is displayed based on a combination of service domain and CSR type.

When you document an environment refresh event, the Stat Repository is updated to reflect any changes the refresh has made to the definition of the target environment. This is done by specifying the start and complete dates of the refresh event. When the specified completion date has elapsed, a process request is submitted automatically to the Stat Central Agent to update the definition of the target environment in the Stat Repository. Start and completion dates are explained in greater detail below.
