Deallocate Unused Space

In Oracle, space is allocated to objects (such as tables and indexes) in segments. Segments consist of contiguous sections called extents. You can use the Allocate Extent dialog to explicitly allocate a new extent for a selected table or index.

For more information, see the Oracle 8 documentation on the ALTER TABLE and ALTER INDEX commands.
