Monitored Server Alarms

Monitored Server alarms relate to the Spotlight Diagnostic Server. If you see one of these alarms then the usual appropriate action is to contact Quest Support.

The alarms are:

Raised when a (specified action) failed to evaluate.

Monitored Server - Alarm Evaluation Failure

Raised when a (specified alarm) failed to evaluate.

Monitored Server - Collection Execution Failure

Raised when a (specified collection) failed to execute against the server.

Monitored Server - Connection Failure

The service is not responding. Check the connection to the service. Check the availability of the service. Check the network.

If WMI queries fail then a Windows Connection Failure alarm is raised on the third successive failed attempt, not on every failed attempt.

Monitored Server - Planned Outage Raised during a planned outage of the connection. For more information, see Configure | Planned Outage.

Monitored Server - Secondary Connection Failure

The service is not responding. Check the connection to the service. Check the availability of the service. Check the network.

Monitored Server – Missing Windows Host

SQL Server

Raised when the SQL Server connection does not have a linked Operating System connection. Add a linked OS connection from SQL Server | Connection Details.
Monitored Server - SQL Server Host Not Defined
