A SQL Agent - Long Running Jobs alarm is raised when a SQL Agent job has been running for considerably longer than expected.
There are two independent but related SQL Agent - Long Running Jobs alarms. The Long Running Jobs (Percent) alarm is enabled by default and adequate for most environments. The Long Running Jobs (Time) alarm is disabled by default. Although it is possible to enable both these alarms together, usually you would enable one for your environment and disable the other.

The SQL Agent - Long Running Jobs (Percent) Alarm is enabled by default. The default threshold for this alarm is 200% of the average run time for SQL Agent jobs of its type. Use this alarm to set thresholds in comparison to other jobs of its type. |
SQL Agent - Long Running Jobs (Time) |
The SQL Agent - Long Running Jobs (Time) Alarm is disabled by default. The default threshold for this alarm is 600 seconds. Use this alarm to set thresholds against absolute time. |
