Acknowledge

Spotlight can show an alarm has been raised even after the severity has returned to normal. Configure that alarm to require acknowledgment. Each raised instance of the alarm remains present in Spotlight Today and the Spotlight Home Page until the instance is acknowledged.

How to acknowledge an alarm

An alarm can be acknowledged from Spotlight today or Spotlight home page.

Spotlight today

Select the alarm on the grid and click Acknowledge.

You may want to enter a comment on acknowledging the alarm. The comment shows up in the Alarm Log.

Column Condition Cleared tells you the time the alarm severity returned to normal.

Spotlight home pages

Click on the Home Page component with an alarm requiring acknowledgment.

Select the alarm to acknowledge (if multiple alarms are raised on the component)

Click Acknowledge.

You may want to enter a comment on acknowledging the alarm. The comment shows up in the Alarm Log.

 

Mobile: Alarms can be acknowledged from Spotlight web site and Spotlight Mobile.

Look up an alarm once it has been acknowledged

Locate the alarm in the Alarm log. The entry in the alarm log grid shows:

  • Acknowledged by - The login name of the user who acknowledged the alarm.
  • Acknowledgment Comment - The comment entered by the user when they acknowledged the alarm.

How to configure an alarm to require acknowledgment

Use the Spotlight Client to configure an alarm to require acknowledgment. Use Configure | Alarms.
