The History Options window contains an Options bar on the left, and a page of options on the right whose contents depend on the category currently chosen in the Options bar.
Use the When to collect snapshots page to choose how often snapshot data is collected, and the circumstances under which it is collected. It contains the following controls:

Take snapshots every... |
Select the option to enable Spotlight to collect snapshot data. Use the associated numeric and unit boxes to enter how often you want Spotlight to take a snapshot. Clear the option to disable the collection of snapshot data. |
| Take snapshots when the following alarms are raised |
Select the option to enable Spotlight to collect snapshot data when alarms are raised. Clear the option to disable the collection of snapshot data when alarms are raised. Use the drop-down list to specify the severity of alarms that will trigger a snapshot. |
Note: When you change one or more options in the History Options window, click OK to save your changes.
