To reduce Spotlight's consumption of client and server resources, try one of these solutions:

Reduce the refresh rates at which Spotlight collects data. For example, instead of the default periods of 15 seconds (foreground) and 60 seconds (background), try periods of 30 seconds and 120 seconds respectively. Data Refresh Rates |
| Use Overhead Management | Use Overhead Management to decrease the load that Spotlight puts on the database under diagnosis. You can do this for the Spotlight connection as a whole (Connection Properties - Overhead Page) or for specified categories of data within the connection (Component Properties - Overhead Page). |
