Spotlight on Oracle 10.10 - Release Notes

Oracle User Wizard: Failure to access database views

This window appears when Spotlight on Oracle is unable to access required database views during its configuration of a new or modified user.

To grant the permissions to access the required data dictionary and performance views, you need to log into the Oracle database as a SYSDBA user by:

  1. Choosing a valid SYSDBA user name from the drop-down list AND
  2. Entering the appropriate password for that user.

Alternatively, follow the User wizard's suggestion to alter the appropriate Oracle parameters manually, and then restart both Oracle and the User wizard.
