The Victim Cleans alarm becomes active when a page cleaner is invoked because of a synchronous write occurring during the victim buffer replacement for the database.
This alarm has been predefined with a Low severity level. The underlying metricfor this alarm can be adjusted to suit your environment by using the Metric Editor.
Try these performance-tuning methods:
If this ratio is low—This could be an indication that there are too many page cleaners defined. If your CHNGPGS_THRESH (access the Databases drilldown’s Configuration tab to view the setting for this parameter) is set too low, you may be writing out clean pages unnecessarily.
If this ratio is high—This could be an indication that there are not enough page cleaners defined. A shortage of page cleaners will increase recovery time after failures.
