The number of times that an asynchronous page cleaner or a prefetcher wrote an index page from the buffer pool to a tablespace. (A prefetcher can write dirty pages to disk to make space for the pages being prefetched.)
Pages cleaners and prefetchers perform asynchronous writes before a query needs buffer pool space—thus avoiding the stop to query processing that occurs when the database manager must write pages to disk.
