Agents Acquired from Pool component

The Agents Acquired from Pool component tracks the percentage of requests for an agent that were satisfied from the existing agent pool.

Required monitor switch

None

Displayed statistic

At each refresh, Spotlight captures the number of requests for agents that were satisfied from the agent pool and displays (in the Agents Acquired from Pool component) this number as a percentage of the total requests for agents made. This percentage value is derived from the following formula:

ssInstance.agents_from_pool / ssInstance.agent_requests * 100

In its default state, Spotlight makes no determination over whether or not a high or low value here is good or bad. Both options incur their cost, and it is up to the individual user to decide if a large agent pool is more cost effective than creating agents on the fly.

Associated drilldown

Click the Agents Acquired from Pool component to open the Database Manager Summary drilldown. This drilldown provides details about all the active databases and partitions in the DB2 instance and helps you pinpoint problem activity.
