The Lock List Utilization component monitors the lock list space allocated for a database or partition. The lock list is the memory allocated for locks used in a database. A lock is a mechanism that prevents applications from accessing non-committed data written by other applications.
At each refresh, Spotlight captures the percentage of allocated lock list memory currently in use for the database or partition.
The bar graph depicts the percentage of allocated lock list memory currently in use for the database or partition. As the lock list utilization approaches the total lock list allocation amount for the database, an alarm becomes current on this component.
Click the Lock List Utilization component to open the Databases drilldown. This drilldown provides details about database or partition that you are monitoring. The Locking tab on the drilldown is in immediate focus to help you pinpoint problems related to lock activity and the lock list usage in the database.
